Bios
Dr. Stephen Ho
Dr. Ho completed his dental training at the University of Toronto. He then completed a hospital dental residency jointly at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Chicago. Dr. Ho returned to the University of Toronto for his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia. Dr. Ho has taken post-graduate medical education in Sleep Apnea Diagnosis and Treatment. Dr. Ho has focused expertise in the area of Obstructive Sleep Apnea as well as CT-based 3D treatment planning for dental implants, corrective jaw surgery and airway size determination. Dr. Ho founded the CVOS Oral Surgery Sleep Treatment Clinic in 2009.
Dr. Ho is the Director of Treatment at the Sleep and Alertness Clinic, a 12-bed executive sleep lab in downtown Toronto. It is the only sleep lab that has full dental integration in diagnostic and treatment modalities.
The Airway ENT and Oral Surgery clinic in North York is the only clinic that allows direct referrals from dentists for ENT and Sleep Medicine consultation. CBCT Imaging, Implant Treatment planning, TMJ Physiotherapy and Speech Language Pathology under coordinated physician care is a truly ground-breaking care model.
Dr. Sanjive Jain
Dr. Sanjive Jain is a family physician with a long-standing practice in Oshawa, Ontario. He has held various leadership positions at the Regional Hospital and the Ontario Medical association. He returned to the University of Toronto to complete a fellowship in Sleep disorders medicine. During this fellowship, he developed a novel meditation intervention to treat the hyper-arousal often present in individuals suffering from Primary Insomnia. His contributions to the field of Sleep medicine also include authoring a Chapter in the Encyclopaedia of Sleep disorders Medicine published through Stanford University and peer reviewing papers submitted for publication to The Journal of Psychosomatic Research.
Dr. Jain works as a consultant Sleep disorders physician at a number of labs in the GTA, including Sleep and Alertness Clinic, York Region Sleep Disorders Centre and the Centre for Sleep and Chronobiology. He treats the full spectrum of Sleep disorders, including Sleep disordered breathing, Parasomnias such as REM behaviour disorder, Hypersomnias including Narcolepsy, and Circadian disorders. He is open and supportive of evidence based Complementary and Alternative Medical treatments and has a special interest in optimizing Sleep and performance in elite amateur athletes.
Dr. Jain is particularly proud of his leadership in creating a platform for inter-professional collaboration between Dentistry and Sleep Medicine with a goal to optimize patient care. He is honoured to be a Instructor/ lecturer (Sleep disorders/ Prosthodontic dentistry) at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He is looking forward to working with Oral surgeons and ENT specialists at the newly established Airway Disorders Center in North York, Ontario.
Heather Brooks
Heather is a Senior Brand Manager at Tempur Sealy Canada. She oversees the lifecycle of product under the Sealy and Stearns & Foster brands. She is responsible for development of product, advertising for the product, and manages distribution in the Canadian market.
Dr. Jonathan Charest
Jonathan Charest is the Director of Athlete Sleep Services and a Behavioral Sleep Medicine Specialist at the Centre for Sleep & Human performance. He works to develop and optimize sleep for athletes (regional to international level). He focuses on how to optimize sleep, training and travel schedule for athletes, occasional athletes, and student-athletes.
In addition to his bachelor’s in psychology (Sherbrooke University), Jonathan is currently completing his Ph.D. in psychology (Laval University). He possesses expertise in behavioral sleep medicine (CBT-I), circadian rhythms disorders as well as the specific reality of the athletic population. Jonathan has been an invited public speaker for sleep at International Conferences.
As an ex-athlete, Jonathan believes in the importance of sleep, recovery and regeneration in the performance environment and alongside Dr. Samuels and the entire team at CSHP, brings a strong commitment to athletes, coaches, and teams to deliver education, screening tools, and research-based strategies to establish healthy sleep hygiene for athletes throughout their career, and for a lifetime.
Furthermore, Jonathan is a published scientific author in the field of Sleep Research.

Continuing education credit certificates for 6 hours will be supplied upon request if you attend the ZOOM module on March 21. It is your responsibility to ascertain that your jurisdiction will accept this module for CE credits.
